These beads are crafted using the enchanting Sedona Surprise frit from Glass Diversions. Lately, I've been focusing on using up some of my frit, especially since I’ve begun mixing my own blends. Each bead in this collection features the same exquisite frit.
The beads are set against base glass colors of cream, lavender, light pink, and off-white. These lighter shades enhance the brightness of the frit blend, resulting in a vibrant appearance when compared to darker backgrounds.
In contrast, some beads are created over darker base glasses, including turquoise, violet, green, periwinkle, and clear. The darker hues provide a striking backdrop, allowing the colors of the frit to play beautifully.
Additionally, I experimented with a swirl technique, using only the frit in clear, which results in a lovely cotton candy effect with delightful pink and blue swirls.
Furthermore, I've created a similar style with the addition of gold aventurine for sparkle. This addition adds a touch of elegance, though it does slightly darken the overall blend. The pink and blue accents remain vibrant and captivating, while the gold brings a warm glow.
In this set, I paired the same frit with blue gold aventurine. I think the contrast is stunning next to this shade of pink.
I believe this frit blend would also look stunning when applied as a stringer or paired with goldstone over brighter colors. I’m looking forward to experimenting further and will share the results here. With plenty of Sedona Surprise frit still on hand, there’s much more to explore in the next set of
lampwork beads!
